Okay, for some the concept of utilizing a French press coffee machine might be a too precious, bordering on snobbishness. I had been in this boat until some hours ago. Tonight impulsively, I bought this Bodum French press. Now I would warn you readers that it is generally A bad idea to test out your shiny new french press when you’re getting home at 10:30pm on the Monday following a lot of money at Target once you just ran into get “dog food”. I write this review so heavily caffienated which i will probably stay until dawn tonight re-organizing my closets or alphabetizing my CD collection or performing some other useless task. Despite as being a daily coffee drinker (from the muddy variety the office’s Bunn machine churns out), a single serving from the french press has knocked me in to the stratosphere, which alone may be worth giving this device 5 stars.
My caffiene overdose aside, this press produces the best coffee That i’ve ever had in your own home, and yes it truly rivals or surpasses coffee I’ve had at coffee houses. It’s a little more involved than having an automatic maker, but not difficult whatsoever. The system itself is pretty sturdy, and appearance lovely.
French press coffee is a good option to using those smaller 1-2 cup automatic drip makers. Being single, I’ve gone through my share of these, along with the coffee they’ve created alway seems about ten times worse than the coffee coming from a normal-sized drip maker. If you love to make a large pot of coffee and drink it throughout the morning, I would suggest buying a high quality carafe or thermos to help keep the coffee warm.
Couple other notes: Coarsely ground coffee is recommended. This can be not a problem for individuals that already buy whole bean and grind their own, but it’ll be an extra step for many people. Also, I propose buying an Aerolatte milk frother in order to make truly effortless cappuchino. I’ve found that there’s plenty of time to warm some milk in the microwave and froth it while the coffee brews for 4 mintues. A $20 Aerolatte milk frother $24 french press = coffeehouse coffee in your own home, at any moment it. That’s a legitimate tiny investment for coffeehouse quality java!
I also obtained a smaller 1-cup Bodum press to look at to function. Tomorrow I want to smile smugly while my co-workers chug down the crap which will come from the Bunn machine. If my boss is actually nice, I’ll allow him to use it too. Maybe.
